Playtime in the Making is a large-scale art installation that speaks to the value of “play” in creativity. Produced by a team of four artists – Tommy Simpson, Karen LaFleur, Nancy Tucker, and Marlow Shami – the project’s intent is to honor “play” as a vital partner in the creative thinking process by guiding the visitor through the four stages of creativity in a “the more you look, the more you see” puzzle. It will include furniture, textiles, laser/router work, as well as hand-carvings, writing, animation, original music, and documentary film.
