Art Wall: Karabo Poppy Moletsane

BAMPFA’s next Art Wall presentation features a newly commissioned work by Karabo Poppy Moletsane, an artist and designer whose large-scale murals are inspired by photo portraits she has taken of her fellow South Africans. Moletsane’s vivid color palette and striking geometric compositions draw on the aesthetics of the Afrofuturist movement, even as they recall the irreverent street-art traditions of South Africa’s vibrant multicultural society.
