Thread Heads: New Bay Area Fiber Art

Exhibition Website

Oct 21 2017 - Nov 26 2017

Artists 18 years old and over who live and/or work in the nine Bay Area counties display their fiber art. For the purposes of this exhibition, fiber art refers to fine art whose material consists of natural or synthetic fiber and other components, such as fabric or yarn. It focuses on the materials and on the process as part of the works' significance, and prioritizes aesthetic value over utility. Techniques such as quilting, embroidery, knitting, crochet, weaving, and felting are included as the work communicates a message, emotion or meaning beyond just the literal meaning of the object.
