Harry Everett Townsend: Illustrations of a War Artist

Townsend, one of eight official combat artists commissioned by the American Expeditionary Force, depicted the rigors of war and the advent of industrial combat. Many of the tanks and airplanes recorded in Townsend’s illustrations were fabricated in Connecticut.
