A complement to French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950, this exhibition features a selection of works by modern artists whose innovative styles helped define avant-garde art. Whether French by birth or by circumstances, these artists experimented with non-traditional techniques, ideas and themes, and many of them were influenced by the colorful works of Henri Matisse. Among the artists represented are Alexander Archipenko, Larry Rivers, Morgan Russell and Sonia Delaunay.
