Jason Evans: Boys of Summer: A Season with the Newport Gulls

While photographing the London Olympics in 2012, Evans’ resolve to document sports in artistic and unique ways, grew even stronger. In search of a creative endeavor close to home, he turned his attention to the Newport Gulls, whom he began photographing in earnest in 2015. With its rich history of Cardines field and connection to the city and community, Evans felt “it was a story waiting to be told.”

Jason Evans does not just make sports photographs. Rather he captures the feelings and unique, and beautiful, aspects of baseball.
