The coastlines of Maine have been a site of inspiration for generations of American artists. In this series of landscape paintings, James Linehan responds to the rocks and water, tree lines and sky, to render dramatic engagements with the environment on the Schoodic Peninsula in Downeast Maine.
The exhibition features a selection of paintings that call to mind Childe Hassam, Georges Seurat, and Yvonne Jacquette. James Linehan: Schoodic is organized by the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.
