Marian Roth: On Bended Light

Exhibition Website

May 5 2017 - Jul 16 2017

Marian Roth has not simply photographed and painted in Provincetown for more than 40 years, she has involved parts of the nations’ oldest continuous art colony in her creative process. Roth is known for crafting cameras she inhabits: a hot dog stand, a geodesic dome, an outhouse, a jeep, and an ice fishing tent have all been her artist’s studio in Provincetown. More importantly, though, her artistic vision is an important contribution to the history of contemporary art that PAAM documents and preserves.

Marian aims to transform the visible world into a daydream in which time and light bend and soften, revealing often unseen truths.
