A Time To Heal

This socially engaging art project has an intention to provide a safe and creative space for military service members. A small group of veterans wrote letters to themselves, reflecting on hardship and healing during workshops facilitated by artist Trinh Mai at the museum. These letters have been incorporated into the “war wounds” that participants created using various materials. Mai has embedded and embellished the hand-crafted “wounds” into large-scale photographs taken by  J. Grant Brittain.
