Raven Chacon: Lightening Speak

Raven Chacon is a composer of chamber music, a performer of experimental noise music, an educator, and an installation artist. Originally from the Navajo Nation, he is also a member of the Indigenous art collective Postcommodity, a team of conceptually-driven artists who challenge limiting and market-driven notions of Native American Art. Chacon’s diverse practice, which ranges from sculptural sound installations, to site-specific performance and collaborative work with at-risk youth, resists pigeonholing of art, music and social experience into distinct categories.
