Art and Culture Center of Hollywood
Jill Weisberg and Brian Gefen playfully challenge viewers to reflect on their own VIP-ness and explore a vibrant, humorous, and delightfully kitschy room. As artists who are actively engaged in the South Florida artist community, Weisberg incorporates vintage magazines and nail polish in her collages, while Gefen’s artwork incorporates hand drawn symbols, typography, colorful scenes, and enigmatic narrative.
Subverting the idea of VIP as an exclusive environment, Center Curator Laura Marsh invites the artist couple to blur the boundary between private and public engagement in a site-specific installation.
