In his book A World of Art, author Henry M. Sayre discusses the role of the artist in society. He identifies four roles; the first is how artists help us see the world in new and innovative ways. These roles provide the viewer with a touchstone through which he or she can then begin to interpret the work.
This exhibition is the first in a series of four exhibitions, each dedicated to one of Sayre’s four guiding principles.
