Fifteen University of Nebraska faculty, staff, and students were invited to become curators for an exhibition drawn from Sheldon’s permanent holdings of nearly 3,000 photographs. Each participant has chosen a single work from the collection and offers a personal response to the image. Featuring photographs by Ansel Adams, Harold Edgerton, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, and Carrie Mae Weems, among others, 15 Photographs, 15 Curators underscores Sheldon’s mission as a teaching museum by presenting multiple perspectives on the collection and demonstrates the myriad ways photography helps illuminate the particulars of our lives.
