Abstract Painting in Europe, 1949-1968

Exhibition Website

This exhibition will focus on works by European abstract artists from the post World War II period of 1949-1968, taken from the Eskenazi Museum of Art's permanent collection.

Artists from Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Hungary, and Poland will be on view. This exhibition shines a light on an interesting area of the museum's collection, surveying what abstract artists in Europe were doing during the tumultuous period between the division of Germany into East and West in 1949, and the civil and political unrest of the 1960s.
