Water's Edge: The Art of Preservation

The Water's Edge Artists will once again be presenting a plein air artists exhibition, The Art of Preservation, at the Rahr-West Art Museum. These beautiful paintings are for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Rahr-West Art Museum and local environmental and historic preservation stewardship organizations. Water’s Edge Artists – Painters for Preservation – is an alliance of plein air artists dedicated to artistically recording historic, endangered or threatened places.

Whether or not you go, Plein Air: The Art Of Creative Observation lets you see the scene as the artist sees it. The book has over 50 completed paintings along with a photograph of the scene being painted. There are also step by step photographs of several of these paintings with suggestions on equipment used in painting outside.
