Radar home, 11.8.13 – New Work by Amy Reidel

For the past 10 years, Amy Reidel has worked with weather radar imagery, specifically of storms over St. Louis as a metaphor to signify emotional and physical conditions. She combines weather radar, color MRI’s, and portraits of her family with colorful media and glitter to merge ideas of impending danger with beauty, love and joy. 

A native of St. Louis, Amy Reidel received her B.F.A in studio art from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and her M.F.A from the University of Tennessee. Reidel is also the co-founder and creative editor of All the Art: The Visual Art Quarterly of St. Louis.
