Selections from the Albano Collection

Exhibition Website

Mar 31 2017 - May 12 2017

Creativity, design and artistry have proven throughout history to be able to deftly navigate complex political environments.

The Albano Collection reminds viewers of the forgotten avant-garde design and graphics in Italy during the Mussolini regime. This dramatic chapter of art history will be explored at the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Reinberger Gallery through the nationally significant and never-before-exhibited collection of art conservator Albert Albano, director of ICA Art Conservation in Cleveland. Rare books, furniture, ceramics, household items, photographs, pamphlets, postcards, posters, magazines and other items will be on view.
