Hand x Machine: Selections From Jumpstart

​The annual Jumpstart fashion show challenges Moore's students to create a garment within the first few weeks of the fall semester around a specific theme. This year they found inspiration from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's recent exhibition Manus x Machina which "explores how fashion designers are reconciling the handmade and the machine-made in the creation of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear." The students utilized both handwork and technology to create designs that demonstrate how tradition meets innovation.
