Roberto Lugo, American ceramist, poet, and social activist, synthesizes personal, cultural experience and politics into the classical contours of his vessels. His work celebrates adversity and resourcefulness. His narratives take shape in ceramic vessels, and take form in his poetry, murals, rap music, and social activism bringing artistic engagement to audiences “that don’t believe they need it to see it.” This exhibition includes collaborative pieces with three other artists, Charlie Cunningham, Liza Masalimova, and Mat Tomeszko.
