Jul 16 2016 - Nov 13 2016

The exhibition Artistic Underground in the Late Soviet Era brings together a provocative selection of nonconformist works, unfolding a striking variety of styles and personalities.

Drawn almost entirely from the TMORA collection, the show features twenty artists that include some of the movement’s most renowned, Vladimir Nemukhin, Oleg Vassiliev, Ilya Kabakov, Ernst Neizvestny, Eduard Shteinberg, Oleg Tselkov, Leonid Sokov, and others. Created shortly before the fall of the Soviet Union, these conceptualizations of the complex political environment are charged with the energy of conflict, charting new territory in world art.
