Before Michael Rockefeller’s disappearance near the southwestern coast of New Guinea, he embarked on a life-changing expedition to learn about the Baliem Valley Dani people. This exhibition features a selection of Rockefeller’s photographs from the Baliem Valley New Guinea expedition of 1961. Many of these photographs from Harvard’s Peabody Museum have not been publicly displayed until recently.
