Since its founding in the early 1970s, Galería de la Raza has been committed to engaging a diverse public in issues of local and global social activism. A community-based arts organization dedicated to fostering and showcasing Chicano and Latino art, it has long explored the multiple ways in which art and ideas circulate via prints, murals, publications, exhibitions, postcards, calendars, and events.

Remezcla Gráfica / Graphic Remix highlights the visually arresting, witty, and politically-charged temporary murals at the gallery’s Bryant and 24th Street location that have become one of Galería’s most iconic programs. The exhibition—the latest in a long line of collaborations between SFMOMA and Galería de la Raza—presents a three-quarter-scale mural, a set of postcards featuring one mural for each year of the program, and a selection of silkscreened posters reflecting the Latino and Chicano experience and the Galería’s commitment to civic engagement.
