Norma Kamali—CITY: Fashion + Art + Culture presents a survey of the designer’s avant-garde collections and innovative projects. This exhibition highlights 25 of Kamali’s Iconic Looks, from imaginative parachute gowns to bold silver-studded ensembles. Kamali’s signature palette of black, white, and red, like her attention to versatility, form, and comfort, is a hallmark of her trailblazing designs. Also on view are Kamali’s fashion films and her larger-than-life “Glamazons,” staged concepts she developed to re-strategize the traditional fashion show format. After five decades, she remains at the forefront of her field, and Kamali continues to push her brand in creative, new directions.
