Biennial SPC Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition

Oct 2 2016 - Dec 30 2016

This biennial exhibition celebrates St. Petersburg College’s Visual Arts faculty members, who in addition to serving as educators, are practicing artists. The exhibition showcases the breadth of expertise and experience of SPC’s Art faculty in array of different styles and media, including ceramics, painting, printmaking, photography and mixed media. Continuing a tradition that began at SPC in the 1950s, these instructors prepare, shape and inspire the next generation of artists.

This exhibition also allows the opportunity for prospective students to learn about art courses available at the College and the instructors who teach them. With a new curator on board at LRMA, this enables the museum to reconnect with its most immediate audience by engaging students directly through their professors, which acts as a bridge between traditional academia and contemporary art practice.

Participating faculty in the 2016 exhibition include Linda Berghoff, Jonathan Barnes, Barton L. Gilmore, Kim Kirchman, Marjorie Greene, Kevin Grass, Elizabeth Indianos, Michele Levin, Barbara Grazul Hubbard, Stephen Shatz, and Michaela Oberlander.
