GCAC inaugurates its new Video Project Space with Polaris, single channel video and sound work by Cuban artist collective Los Carpinteros.

Polaris describes the voyage of a musician who carries his drums through the Pyrenees. Shot in a real setting, it is essentially a sound piece that explores great areas of silence and noise, where the notion of pilgrimage takes on a central role as an abstract and personal ritual.

Los Carpinteros live and work between Havana and Madrid, the collective founded in 1992 in Havana.  Marco Antonio Castillo Valdes, was born on September 18, 1971 in Camaguey, Cuba.
