John Altoon

John Altoon is a quintessentially southern Californian artist, whose early death at the age of 43 cut short a unique and important career. 

An “artist’s artist” and L.A. legend, Altoon is just now receiving the critical attention that his body of work deserves. The University Art Museum boasts seven original John Altoon drawings in its permanent collection, all of which will be on view for the first time for this exhibition.
