Storytellers: Teaching Heritage through Song and Story

Exhibition Website

Mar 18 2016 - Jun 27 2016

In the southwest, stories are not told merely for pleasure; they can be educational parables or amusing moral fables. For communities with no written history, the storytellers keep the legendary ancestors, the history, and traditions alive.

On exhibition will be the delight full handmade clay dolls that represent the elders who pass on the history and culture to younger generations. To complement the clay figures, this exhibit will feature select stories and ballads, spoken and sung, in the surrounding communities of Taos.
