Poster House

New York City, NY

The Women’s March held on January 21, 2017, in cities across the United States brought together people of all types for a demonstration in response to the election of President Donald J. Trump.

The signs in this exhibition cover women’s healthcare, immigration, equal pay, Black Lives Matter, and a general concern about the future of democracy in the United States. Handled with satire and irreverence unique to the American voice these predominantly hand-made posters remind us of the concerns of the recent past. The upcoming election year is an opportune time to review the feelings and issues from the beginning of the Trump presidency while we consider the options for the future.

This exhibition will present a full spectrum of voices, sometimes conflicting, which discuss to the many challenges facing Americans today.
