Two rare 15th-century paintings by Ercole de' Roberti have recently undergone conservation at the Getty. 

Newly cleaned, these remarkable works reveal Ercole's absolute mastery of dramatic narrative and perceptive observation of intricate detail, accomplishments which earned him the status of leading painter in his native city of Ferrara, Italy.
