Jean Cormier: Face to Face

Exhibition Website

Jan 12 2019 - Apr 14 2019

Face to Face presents the work of Jean Cormier, a Florida-based artist whose paintings are aptly-described as bold both in their use of color and value and in their honest, thought-provoking, and often witty representations of humans and animals.

Cormier graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BFA in 1973, majoring in Communications and Design with a minor in Art History. In 1979, she relocated from Virginia to rural Central Florida spending decades away from the art world while raising a family and running an insurance business.

Following her retirement, Cormier followed a new path as an artist, beginning in 2012. Over the past six years, she has exhibited widely throughout Florida and has been awarded with numerous “Best of Shows” and other major honors.

Exemplifying the artist’s simple motivating credo – “I draw and I paint” -- Face to Face comprises 28 of Cormier’s most recent works in acrylic and oils.
