Mark Eanes: The Passionate Spectator

As a painter, Mark Eanes enjoys looking at the world in all its richness and complexity. Leveraging his photographic studies of urban spaces from his travels, Eanes current work is an exploration into seeing. The camera is a lens to record a moment in time and his paintings bring them to life with vivid color, texture, and emotion evoking the visceral in what we see.

Eanes captures the world around him with a unique sense of adventure and awareness. Regarding his process, Eanes says, “My interest is to pay close attention, to glimpse-and then give expression to certain feelings and observations.” His art undoubtedly evokes the spirit of these glimpses, giving us a peek into Eanes’ complex world.
