Daniel Buren: A Colorful Pause

Exhibition Website

Oct 2018 - Jun 21 2019

A Colorful Pause is a site-specific installation by Daniel Buren (b. 1938), one of France’s most influential, original and adored living artists. Well-known internationally for his work, which questions art and its environment, Buren has created a contemporary pergola on which, instead of flowers, panels of vibrantly colored acrylic sheets are arranged alphabetically according to their French names. The effect is a work in progress, where blues; yellows; oranges; reds; and purples create a prism that shifts according to the season and time of day.
