Sharper Edges: Women Working on the Edge of Glass

Exhibition Website

Nov 15 2018 - Feb 17 2019

Women have proven to be a distinct and formidable force in the contemporary glass arena, although their path was equally challenging to reach the levels of recognition of their male counterparts, as well as achieve the grandiose scale.  This exhibit examines a select group of regional artists who speak out with a distinct viewpoint.  Some of their work is political, some of the work environmental and some of the work examines gender biases and stereotypes.

Audrey Handler, Susan Taylor Glasgow, Carmen Lozar, Stephanie Trenchard, Beth Lipman, Kristin Thielking, Deanna Clayton and Lisa Koch, are among the artists represented in this selective exhibition, however, the galleries will highlight works by other female artists and would like to recognize their contributions in studio glass, paperweights and in 19th century glass.
