Frayed by Rachael McCall

Frayed promises an alluring distraction from the banality of hard lines and boxes. Hard lines are disintegrated and their legibility is shifted into the realm of painterly thick brush strokes. Figures work as objects, but are distracted by detail, agitation and intricacy.

Inherently fatty primitives are disintegrated by a series of ongoing obsessions involving formal addictions to; ripping, rippling, peeling, tearing, synching, stitching, slashing, fraying and wrinkling. These maneuvres aim to blur and distort massiveness and monumentality.

In a world of lies, misconceptions, illusions, and allusions, Architecture that adds fuzz, friction, and distortion is unavoidable and enticing.
