John Walker: Moments of Observation

The vicissitudes of land and sea have provided rich subject matter for John Walker’s paintings over the past fifteen years. Sheldon’s exhibition features both large- and small-scale works created by the artist in response to living much of this period on the coast of Maine. Born in Birmingham, England, in 1939 and trained in the UK and France, Walker was selected to represent Great Britain in the 1972 Venice Biennale, and currently resides in the US.
