New Farmers

New Farmers is a collaborative research project between photographer D. Bryon Darby, designer Tim Hossler, and sociologist Paul Stock. An observation of today's independent farmer, the project merges visual images with the print media of newspapers to explore and discuss contemporary farming. New Farmers aims to tell the story and empower the diversity of a new breed of first-generation, small-scale, sustainable farmer. Comprised of large-scale prints (up to 40x50-inches) from the project (images and text panels) are paired with copies of the “New Farmers” newspaper are available for visitors addressing the subjects of the work, food and farming on the Great Plains.
