Lost Without Your Rhythm

Framing the body as weighted material, the works in the exhibition attempt to bridge the gap between the body of the performer and that of the viewer. Together, they present unemotional, nontechnical gestures and objects that deny any prescribed ordered time and appeal to our inherent sense of motion. Including work by Helena Almeida, Simone Forti, EJ Hill, Bruce Nauman, B. Ingrid Olson, Yvonne Rainer, and Oscar Tuazon, Lost Without Your Rhythm engages visitors by bringing forth experiences that implicate and provoke the body toward action.
