Exhibition Website

Apr 14 2018 - Jun 24 2018

This exhibition will present a selection of First Lady of Maryland Yumi Hogan’s recent paintings. Working in the long tradition of East Asian and Western landscape painting, Mrs. Hogan’s work ethereally evokes the spirit of natural serenity and invites introspective contemplation. Her work blends traditional Sumi ink painting techniques with acrylic and mixed media that draw upon the artist’s Korean roots and embrace her current life experiences. Mrs. Hogan received her BFA from the Maryland Insitute College of Art (MICA), Baltimore, MD, and her MFA from American University, Washington, D.C. She currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Drawing at MICA and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally in Annapolis, MD, Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Seoul, South Korea.
