Shelley Horton-Trippe: A Greater Sublime, 8 Poets / 8 Paintings

Stemming from that Abstract Expressionistic 50’s notion of poets and painters collaborating, Shelley Horton-Trippe continues her experiments with the emotive sound of the poem and its relationship with the visual. She began this investigation in 1992 with her synesthetic collaborations working with poets from Tomas Salamun to Jon Davis exhibited at Sena West Galleries in Santa Fe.

CCA is presenting this work’s next configuration in the fall of 2018 with a new generation of poets led by Catherine Meng and an interactive element that invites the viewer to enter into the world of the poet, the painter, and the synesthete.
