Hayley Morris

Hayley Morris is an animation director that uses mixed media and stop-motion animation techniques to tell stories that unfold through layered textures, hand crafted details, and inventive storytelling. Her studio practice revolves around experimentation with tactile materials, such as paper, fabrics, found objects and natural materials. She runs an animation studio in Providence, RI called Shape & Shadow. Through Shape & Shadow Hayley creates commercials, music videos, tour visuals and short films for a variety of clients.

Hayley has directed work for Sesame Street, Burt’s Bees, Kate Spade, Samsung, Hewlett Packard and many others. Hayley has a passion for creating music videos and tour visuals and has created work for The Smashing Pumpkins,  Iron and Wine, Explosions in the Sky and Grammy-award winning violinist Hilary Hahn, and pianist Hauschka. Morris’ work has been featured in film festivals and museums worldwide. She also teaches animation at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design and previously at the Rhode Island School of Design.
