History: Photographs by David Levinthal

Iconic historical moments, often portrayed in paintings or on film, have served as the inspiration for David Levinthal’s recent body of work, History. He re-creates and translates these images through the artistic format of dioramas and photographic interpretation. Levinthal’s photographs reimagine compelling subjects, from Napoleon’s coronation, to civil war battles and Washington Crossing the Delaware.
