In partnership with select senior-care facilities in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, Looking Inward cumulates artwork from a unique outreach project centered around art-making activities for underserved seniors, many of whom live with memory disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Taking inspiration from the exhibition Awaking Beauty: The Art of Eyvind Earle, participating artists are asked to consider the representations of nature as a backdrop for their own lives, creating visual responses in a variety of media, including scratch boards, paintings, and collage.
